Lisa holds a Masters Degree in Education with an emphasis in community counseling and is both licensed as a professional counselor with the State of Wisconsin and board certified as a national counselor. She obtained certification as a Narrative Therapist in the summer of 2016. Lisa was granted the Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) designation from the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (IAEDS) in June, 2018. Beginning in 1993, her professional career has consisted of private practice counseling, personal and professional coaching, employee assistance programming, teaching, assisting in the development of a dedicated eating disorders program, professional speaking and writing. Lisa’s areas of specialty and interest include women’s issues, concerns of pre-adolescent and adolescent girls, families affected by addiction/codependency, eating disorders, survivors of abuse/trauma/torture, depressive and anxiety disorders, grief and loss concerns, chronic illness, life transitioning, and sexuality and spirituality issues. She is theoretically oriented in gestalt, systemic and existential philosophies and practices from holistic, positive and strength-based psychotherapeutic perspectives. Lisa utilizes numerous forms of creative expression, bioenergetics and elements of spiritual psychology in addition to traditional psychotherapeutic methods in her work with clients. Lisa is an empathic and integrity-minded practitioner who has great reverence and respect for those she works with.
