I have a Masters in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. I am a Certified Advanced Practice Social Worker. I have experience working with adults, family, and elderly. My goal is to provide the best therapeutic experience for my clients taking into account all aspects of identity and culture. Theoretical orientation: I believe that it is important to tailor therapy to specific individuals, settings and presenting concerns. Therefore, I view my theoretical orientation as integrative with my foundation grounded on person-centered, feminism, and multiculturalism. I consider the therapeutic relationship to be the most important factor in the healing process. I strive to create a warm, supportive, and collaborative environment. I empower patients to utilize their strengths to make desired changes.
I address cultural variables such as race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, gender, and spiritual beliefs not as independent variables but as intersecting identities that are all working together to influence the experiences of individuals. I am bilingual/bicultural and can speak Spanish.
